Demolition of the bridge on the DTD channel
The company Elita-cop d.o.o. is recognizable, both in the country and in the region, for the performance of demolition and dismantling of very demanding constructions. The numerous modern techniques it possesses, many years of experience in the demolition of various structures and a permanent expert team enable it to take a leading position in this field of performing this type of work.
Demolition and dismantling works by “Elita-cop” d.o.o. performed by machine with a minimal share of required manual work, without the use of explosives. The emphasis is on the minimal impact that the execution of works can have on the safety and health of the executors, the working environment, the surrounding facilities and the environment. During the execution of the works, the shore is secured by driving steel piles.
The basis of the technology it applies involves the crushing of reinforced concrete structures using hydraulic hammers and hydraulic shears carried and driven by excavators or car cranes of appropriate capacity. A particular challenge on this project was the removal of the structure above the water surface, which was carried out from the water, using excavators with a long arm.
The subject of demolition is a two-track railway bridge consisting of two structurally independent upper machines supported on common pillars, i.e. the foundations of the bridge. Each individual upper machine is a continuous monolithic reinforced concrete prestressed structure – a continuous support with three spans, with a straight longitudinal axis. It consists of two longitudinal, box-shaped, post-stressed main girders, transverse beams between the main girders, secondary longitudinal girders under the railway rails and connecting wall fields (girders) between the longitudinal secondary girders. Monolithic foundation structures consist of walls with a thickness of 1.85m for foundations on shore and 1.70m for foundations in water and foundation footings (head beams) on piles. The undercarriage is Franki piles with a diameter of 40 cm. For construction purposes, 52 piles were distributed in three rows, for columns they were distributed in five rows.
The structural length of the bridge is 126.32m, on three spans (32.21+61.90+32.21m).
The spacing of the main girders is 5.20m along the side spans and 5.57m along the main span.
Period of performance of Works: 2023.
